TEACHER SPOTLIGHT WITH SEWING WIZARD TISH GANCE
“My sister and I grew up with our parents telling us "You WILL be self-sufficient!" and instilling skills such as sewing, car repair, and home maintenance. Though sewing was fun, having to make my own clothes for each school year didn't make me very popular. As I got older it became an essential skill to having awesome stuff that wasn't like everyone else's, and also way better quality. Now instead of being made fun of for wearing handmade items, people ask "Where did you get that? I want one!" to which I reply..."come take a class!"
With over 30 years sewing experience and many many sewing "experiments" gone good and bad, it was time to share some of these findings with others who enjoy sewing and making garments and home decor items. Tish truly believes anyone that wants to learn to sew will be able to make quality items with the proper skills offered to them...They don't just teach sewing, they build confidence and skills at her business HISS Studio!
