10 QUESTIONS WITH COLORFUL CRAFT GODDESS CHELSEA HART
The need to create has been a constant throughout Chelsea’s life. Growing up in Cincinnati, she was endlessly creating art. That drive to make art was there while earning her BA in Visual Studies at Western Kentucky University, and continues now as she lives in Colorado. Chelsea’s work is an experimentation of color. She is influenced by the playfulness of light, and the color palettes found in the unexpected. Contrary to the clothes she wears, she doesn’t typically paint with neutrals and has to make a conscious effort to include them while creating. Her work leans more to the bold and bright approach, and would best be described as playful with lots of movement. Chelsea is constantly finding new inspiration in the colorful world around her, trying new processes, and continually evolving her work.
Although the process and aesthetic of her work has evolved and will keep evolving, the main goal when creating her art has stayed the same, which is to bring happiness to viewers. When she’s not painting, she’s sipping wine (ok that happens while painting too), pretending she’s a Top Chef and trying to cook decent meals, traveling, and always thinking about her next trip, binge watching shows, online shopping, working out, and trying to find new artists for inspiration.
